Google Book Search(books.google.com), as you know, is a large online repository of books. You can enter a query and Google Book Search will search within the book and return you the results. You can then see a preview of the book and read it.

Some books are available in their entirety, some have limited previews and the others have no previews at all. It so happens that often one needs only a topic or two from a specific book. While the Internet is a good source and has plenty of free ebook sites, I have quite often seen people trying (unsuccessfully of course) to copy-paste, save images or take screen shots of Google Book search results. In this post I am going to show you how to download books from Google Books search.

So, if you have been in a similar situation where you badly wanted a page or two of the book, try the Google Books Downloader. http://www.codeplex.com/GoogleBookDownloader

Just download, extract and run the application (make sure you have .NET 3.5 on your system).


Go to the Google Books page for the book you want to download.


Copy and paste the book code of the book you want to download.
Click the “check” button to check if GBD finds the required book and returns the available pages.
Click the “download entire book” button. GBD will now download the book. The number of pages downloaded will depend on the number of pages that are available. If the entire book is available like those in the public domain then GBD will download the entire book.


Once the download has completed, you can save the book as a PDF file by clicking on the “Save Book” button.
Now read the book! Of course you can use the application to download books that were not supposed to be downloaded. So you are advised to download the books with caution and at your own discretion. The download takes quite some time to complete so you may have to wait a little before you can reap the benefits of a downloaded book!

Change your ip addres with switchproxy

You can change your ip address easily with mozilla firefox browser using switch proxy
Use a proxy with SwitchProxy and Firefox:
1) Download and install Firefox
2) Download and install SwitchProxy

orkut hacks and tricks

I have compiled a list of orkut tips and tricks which actually work. It has been updated to 2009, so it will work like charm.


So here is the list..


1. Changing Orkut Background
If you use firefox you can change the orkut backgroung by using the greasemonkey firefox extension. Install Bluekut hack from here

2. Orkut Cute
Orkut cute is a program that let you send scraps to all your friends in orkut. It also alerts you when you receive new scraps send notifications when forums are updated.

3. Sorkut Firefox Extension
This is a toolbar to search for the threads with specific words in the title. Just give the community id of the community you want to search, enter the search term and click Search.

4. Scraboy
This is a freeware program that let you browse orkut and know when you or your friends receive new scraps. You can add emoticons, colour and formatting to your scraps with ease. Sending scraps from your desktop is also as easy as writing an instant message.

5. Orkut Scrap Helper
This is a cool firefox extension that let you scrap faster by providing messaging options in your own scrapbook page. It also reduces the number of steps to scrap someone who has scrapped you to just one!.

6. Scrapbook Flooding
An Indian dude named Rahul created this Firefox extension for Orkut scrapbook flooding. The extension is compatible with Firefox1.5+ and can be downloaded from here.

There are some Javascript hacks for Orkut. Like, for flooding scrapbook, Increasing number of fans, testimonial flodding, Invisible names, blank scraps, etc. Some of them do work.

Hack xp admin password

To access admin priveleges from user mode just follow these steps:

1. Open command prompt (Start->Run->cmd),

2. Type the following command:
"compmgmt.msc" and press [enter]

This opens the computer management console.

3. Go to local users & groups->users. Right click on any user and select "set password".

If it shows "access denied" do the following actions (using cmd)

start>run>cmd

then use following commands:

net user abhishek /add (an account with the name abhishek will be created)

Then after this type another command shown below:

net localgroup administrators abhishek /add (this command will give you admin rights)

Now use net user command to reset your admin. password

Net user command is used in the following manner
goto run type cmd
at the command prompt type
"net user username *"

for example if the user name is abc then the command will be
netuser abc *

than it will ask change password and retype password

Multiple login to okut ,yahoo or gmail in firefox

Login with multiple ids at the same time in orkut , gmail , yahoo

To perform this trick you need mozilla firefox browser

======== Trick to Multilogin in firefox ============

Step 1:
open system properties(by right clicking my computer), choose tab advanced, click to environment variables button. in system variables section, click new. type this information to each textbox.

variable name: moz_no_remote(should be all small letter)

variable value: 1

press ok to close all windows.

step 2:
open firefox icon's properties(from desktop and quick launch). add extension -p to command line(like "c:\program files\mozilla firefox\firefox.exe" -p). press ok.

while starting firefox u have to create two separate profiles of firefox so that u can login to two accounts of any(orkut,yahoo,rediff or anything else).......
for three logins create three profiles of firefox.........
