Another XSS worm has attacked Google's Social Networking site Orkut . This time the worm is Bom Sabado . This virus Bom Sabado attacked Orkut this morning .“Bom sabado” is a Portuguese world it means “Good Saturday” in English.
Bom Sabado is an XSS worm which attacks by stealing your cookies . When you visit any profile or read any scarps(contains text as "Bom Sabado") from an infected profile , this worm steals your cookies to get your orkut account credentials . Then it send scraps to every one in your friends list and like wise it keeps one spreading from profile to profile . It also joins you in unknown orkut communities .Around 2000 accounts have infected with this xss worm Bom Sabado . Google has not yet announced , whether they have fixed this worm .
Here are some security measures which you can follow to protect your Orkut account from Bom Sabado
1. Avoid using orkut for some days.
2. Change your password , if you think your profile is infected .
3. Disable Java Script in your browser while using orkut .
4. Delete malicious scraps by visiting m.orkut.com via google chrome as scripts don't work on m.orkut.com
5.If you find your account hacked, Revert back to the old Orkut layout, unjoin from the Brazilian communites,
6.If you can’t access Orkut, simply cleanup the cookies and the temporary internet files from the PC, and try to login.
7. Use old Orkut version .
